Writing with Skill Level 2 walks students through a comprehensive and systematic approach to writing composition. Skills necessary for academic success include summarizing, outlining, and note-taking. Students also practice writing patterns targeted to history, science, and literature, which prepares learners to write across the curriculum. Detailed instruction in narration and sequences, comparisons, introductions and conclusions, and finding topics help further the students’ writing aptitude.

Learners progress to critically assess prose and poetry, research, and draft a final project.

Training in independent learning, effective writing, and critical thinking are objectives for WWS Level 2. Co-op time together will focus on the weekly lesson targets, with a heavy emphasis on student interaction sharing ideas, and constructive feedback. Rubrics will be provided for feedback on student compositions. Grades will be the responsibility of the parent and parent interaction is necessary. Useful prerequisite: Writing with Skill Level 1
