In ELA 5-6, students will learn content and how to interact and make connections with text at a deeper level. Critically thinking, sharing dialogue, and expounding on ideas about text and among participants enables a rich literary experience. Vocabulary, spelling, comprehension, and writing instruction are included. Building confidence as readers and critical thinkers helps students analyze text and measure against Biblical truths, setting the stage for a joyful journey seeking God’s wisdom through the written word.
This course is an active setting encouraging meaningful participation enabling deeper connections and growth. Preparation of home study assignments will provide skill-building practice and will assist in gleaning the maximum Co-op experience while sharing together in class. Feedback will be offered as students participate and grow at their level in lieu of letter grades. Projects may be assigned to monitor progress and engagement.
