Chess is the most popular game in the world, and is played all over the world for over 1000 years! Since 2016, the Trinity Chess classes have been taught by Coach Krista and a Trinity junior coach in training. Coach Krista is the founder from Alton Academy 4 Chess. Coach Krista has been teaching for over 25 years and works in chess on a local, state, and national level. Alton Academy 4 Chess is the largest chess school for students in the Tampa Bay area reaching over 300 students weekly.
Chess 2 Class: This class is for beginners – intermediate students, ages 7-18 who know how to play the game of chess and understand basic strategy. Chess education helps students with focusing, problem solving, social skills, pattern recognition, creative thinking, fair play, and more! Each class includes instructional teaching and chess playing with friends. Students should want to compete in local tournaments and be part of the Trinity Chess Team. Trinity is a TOP SCHOOL in chess competition, winning more trophies than any other school in the Tampa Bay area! Students are encouraged to play in BEGINNER FRIENDLY local tournaments. Tournament participation is not a requirement. Private lessons are also available. Each student or family should purchase a US Chess regulation Chess Set (board, pieces and matching carry bag) for $35. Each student MUST purchase a chess notation book (hard cover $10, soft cover $5) from the instructor at Open House or at the first class.
