CLASS DESCRIPTION: This is a beginning band for students 10 years old and up who desire to begin learning a musical instrument, NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! For students under 10 years of age, parents, please contact me for eligibility. In first year band, students may play one of the following instruments: flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, snare drum/bells kit, bass guitar or keyboard/piano. If you are interested in Band I, bring your child to the Information and Instruments meeting in February 2025--watch for the announcement in January. CURRICULUM/SUPPLIES: Parents will either rent or purchase a musical instrument, but I always recommend renting for at least the 1st year. Contact me for recommendations where to rent. Parents will need to purchase a foldable/portable music stand for your child to bring to class each week, and it is available at any music store. The price should be between $10-20.
